Differences of “Between” and “Among”

Hi Hi .. Welcome to our website / page: Innovative Learning Center – a trusted English course / tutoring since 2007. This time, the Innovative Learning Center English course / tutoring will discuss the differences between BETWEEN and AMONG in English. Any of you who already know?

You may sometimes get confused when to wear between and when to wear among. Take it easy, Innovative Learning Center course / tutoring will provide tips and tricks.

The words between and among have the same meaning. However, between describes an object that is between two other objects, while among describes an object that is in a group or crowd. Let’s take a look at the following example.

  • He was dancing between Billy and Tom.
  • She was walking among the biggest stars.

The first sentence shows that he is doing activities between two people, namely Billy and Tom. While the second sentence shows her (woman) doing activities among many people (big stars are the same as famous people).

So in conclusion, if there are two things, we can use between. If there are many things, please use among.
